We install various manufacturer’s brands of air conditioning equipment.

Air conditioning warranties will typically include a parts warranty from the manufacturer. The manufacturer though, are never the ones actually installing the new AC unit. The new install is performed by a local Air Conditioning company (an HVAC contractor). This AC company is basically a “dealer” or “retailer” for the manufacturer.  They purchase the unit from the manufacturer, and they are also the ones that will pick up any replacement parts required for a warranty repair, and they are also the ones that will provide you with the labor required for that repair.

Many customers have a difficult time piecing together who will then be responsible for the cost should the equipment or installation of the equipment fail.  What is the manufacturer or the installing contractor responsible for?  Warranties in the air conditioning industry usually only come from the manufacturer to cover the cost of replacement parts, but manufacturers DO NOT cover the cost of labor of the contractor who will be performing the warranty repair. In short, you will be paying the cost of any labor required to fix your unit, even if the unit is still under the manufacturer’s parts warranty. This could mean hundred and even thousands of dollars  out of your pocket over the life of the system…but we have a way to protect your investment!

At Spartan Air Conditioning we feel it is OUR responsibility to ensure the reliability of your newly purchased air conditioning unit, and while it is completely optional, we always recommend including a labor warranty to the system purchase. This means in addition to the parts warranty that the manufacturer provides with each new system, you will also be receiving a labor warranty so that you’re not paying for anything (parts or labor) for any kind of repair that may be required during the warranty period.
